Summer is slowly beginning to wind down around here, and the thoughts and ideas around a school schedule are gaining momentum in our brains. Although I can think of one person in my house who is a great resister. *wink, wink* I think even he is beginning to get a little anxious.
I believe I mentioned in a earlier post that I enrolled my daughter in the K12 curriculum, I was a little skeptical about it but I'm slowly melting. Over the past 3-4 weeks we have been receiving various UPS shipments from K12. These packages consist of all her school supplies for the year, including a science kit, colored wax sticks, a dry erase board, work books and reading books. To impress me even further, Yesterday, they sent over a new computer complete with flat panel monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer, printer ink and microphone headsets to plug into the computer....How cool is that?! The best part about it all is that I've not had to come out of pocket for it. Not even for the computer. My daughter already had a computer that she used for some school work but recently, it went kerplunk! and we have not fixed it. So, when asked by the K12 coordinator if I needed one, and they said they were willing to provide it for me, I was elated.
So as we unpacked all of her new school things, I could see the gleam in her eyes and the excitement welling up. New Beginning's, indeed.
