It's almost that time of year again.
Back to School!!
Although technically we haven't totally been out of school, but you get my drift.
Ever since I was a little kid in public school I always enjoyed the excitement and anxiety of the first few days of school. To me it was a clean slate, a great opportunity to prove my academic worth and make right all the wrongs from the previous school year. My outlook was always optimistic. I couldn't wait to see who was going to be in my new class, who was going to be my new teacher and of course what new things would I learn?
To add even more significance to the occasion was all the new stuff I got! New clothes, shoes, book bags, pencils, paper and a new lunch box.
Well, I haven't changed much since my school days. I still get excited about the first days of school, not for me, but for my children. Of course they are no longer in public school but just the same, I am excited....They might not be, but I am.
As a home schooling mom I am so excited to take the children to their next level academically. I love to see them learn something new and watch the innocent "aha" moments come across their faces. It makes me feel progressive when their new books arrive in the mail and I stack them ever so neatly on the shelf.
Although there are certain things that I don't worry about purchasing for the children when this time of year rolls around, I still get excited over some of the basics that are sold for dirt cheap.
I was going through my Sundays paper and already I saw a few ads for back to school supplies.
So, if you are like me and get a little excited about these things, head on over to Staples this week 7/12-7/15. They have a great deal going on. Items for 1cent, $1, lots of BOGO's on the crayons, markers and pens, and if you got the Sunday paper you can use the $5 off coupon for purchase of $20 or more.
I plan on being there this week, to pick up and stock up on all that we need for the coming school year. It's gonna be a good year I'm excited. Can you tell?
